Bench Talk | Linus Pauling's Controversial Career - January Night Sky | Dec 30, 2024
Update: 2024-12-27
Description
Linus Pauling (1901-1994) is the only person to have won two unshared Nobel Prizes. One prize was for his groundbreaking research in biochemistry, and the other for his anti-nuclear war activism. But he made mistakes too; like his ugly support of 'negative eugenics' and his unsubstantiated claims about Vitamin C megadosing. Let's review his career! Then, Scott Miller tells us about the four planets, and the meteor showers, stars, constellations and nebulae we can see in the night sky in January.
